the world is flat..indeed!

just how many social network are you aware of? well, im pretty sure two, or for some three. Facebook, Twitter and blogging. Like it or not, the more social network are introduced, the more exposed we are to the outside world. what's scary about this is the fact that we are not in control of the information we share, although most of the times we do..or so they say.

no matter which part of the world you are, you will most definitely agree that we are all entitle to our own opinion, or Freedom of Speech in general. and when you agree to share your information to the outside world, you cannot expect everyone to actually agree with whatever you say, and i am no exception. because of that, i always reserve my personal information especially when i think its not the world to know because of the fact that they are free and fast to judge. unfortunately, some people just gets a little bit too excited when it comes to sharing it to the world.

they know BUT they forget the fact that exposures and critics that will come after such 'insider information' given, is sometimes too tough to take, to hurtful to handle and too nasty to accept, and worst, when they only have themselves to blame. i have my own twitter account, and its a public account, which basically means even Barrack Obama can read my tweet if he wish. its public because then i know and i will remember when to say what and when not to say anything at all. well ive seen lots of pretentious affairs, fake friendships, blunt accuses, and what loath me the most, is the me me me tweet.

i understand, that sometimes you just gotta tell the world about it, as it will help to release such tense feeling inside of you. BUTwhen you do it all the time, it bores me, and trust me sweetheart, i am not the only one who feel that way about it. every single tweet is about how I do this and that, what I do today and will do tomorrow, why I do this and not that. i know, people are doing exactly the same thing to me when i tweet, although i dont really tweet about difficult life, or hows this, hows that yada yada yada. i admit, sometimes i mustve done the same me me me tweet too, but i am willing to bet if i do it successively EVERY SINGLE DAY, potentially every meal time during the day.

having said that, the world lives by the rule of Freedom of Speech, and unfortunately it applies to me too. so keep tweeting the tweet or keep updating the facebook, and all im asking for is to do it in a very modest way. but hey, you dont necessarily have to listen to me, go on and be a dingbat, brag about it like the world wants to know, talk about it like youre the only one whos making sense, cause i dont care. just dont say i never tell you!

after all, everyone needs a little banter in life, and you're my friend, is on the news. Strike a pose..wait no! you might wanna check the grammar..cause i dont!

The world as it should be..ROUND!

Cheers!

Go Green!

Haven't been writing ages i think. Pardon me. Been busy with life. Well maybe not as busy as yours i can see, but i still have a life you know. I got exams, got lotsa errands to settle and craps in life that makes life...a life! Havent been out as much, except few crazy night outs and a super awesome avicii concert. Other than that, life is pretty much, well like i said it..life!

Exams sucks if youre wondering, and night outs were smashing, if you wanna know. So starting last week, umpy and i, we start eating healthy food. We need to lose some fat..well fine! We need to slim down cause we are fat. Ok, i AM FAT! Happy? So i've been cooking all these so-called healthy food. Havent seen much green and colourful stock in my fridge, until last Monday. Well, being a Malaysian, greasy, oily and fattening food is like the way of life. Everything have to be fried and greasy. So when we talk about healthy food, its nothing of that sort, or is there? Oh whatever! Instead i start boiling whole lots of "green stuff" and slowly fry some lean meat with very little oil.

First two days were fine, coming into the third day, both of us start telling ourselves, that this should be the dinner, not just a dinner. Thinking to dump it and start eating those fat food again, but we made a pact, that at home, we should go healthy, and what happen at home, stays at home..and it did! Ha ha. Mind you, there's no giving up just yet, but we'll see for how long. Thing is, i dont know how to make healthy foods taste nice and eat-able by a human being!

Second week next week, so i shall update all you virtually imaginary readers. I want to write more, but the laptop forbid me to do so. Need to upgrade "it" (as i dont know what to update really). As for now, have a good weekends.

Colourful and Green

Remember, GO GREEN!

check-in!

I am not a keen traveller, but i work in the hotelier industry. There are MANY things that traveller doesnt know, no matter how KEEN a traveller you are, you will always miss a thing or two. TRUST me on this. Its annoying i know, but its even more annoying having to deal with people at the front desk upon arrival. There are things that you need to know before you choose a hotel, before you check-in, during your stay and upon check-out. You dont have to know it by heart, but please, be aware of it cause sometimes its just a bloody common sense.

1. Before you make a reservation, do a thorough survey on the hotel. i mean THOROUGH! Know what to expect and what not to expect. The stupidest idea a guest can have is to think that utilities in 2 stars hotel DO match a 4 stars hotel. i say FORGET THAT! we dont have a bloody bell boy in 2 stars hotel. Dhuh??

2. Read the description of the room. READ the description properly, and while ure at it, please use your brain too! The same Double room, can come in either basic or ensuite. There MUST be a reason why BASIC is CHEAPER than ENSUITE. Instead of checking out what makes the different, you go for the cheaper one. Well honey, aint blaming you. Its cheaper, and its the same room, only it comes with a different name.

BASIC = WITHOUT SHOWER/TOILET IN THE ROOM.
ENSUITE = WITH SHOWER/TOILET IN THE ROOM.

3. You just dont expect a 5 stars service in 2 stars hotel. They wont provide you with a flat screen TV in the room, or sometimes not even syampoo! Yes, the TV is cheap or secondhand or whatever, but its WORKING! so, be patient and deal with it yourself, before you arrogantly complaint and demand a technician, especially when all he has to do is to plug it back, cause unfortunately its accidentally unplug when the housekeepers are cleaning the room! COMMON SENSE much...no?

4. Stop complaining about the breakfast. YES, it will only be continental breakfast in ALL budget hotels. Toasted bread, eggs and cereals. If you're lucky enough, they'll probably have chocolate spread or maybe croissants. So eat up or go and get big breakfast from McDonalds.

5. Always read the HOTEL POLICY. ALWAYS, ALWAYS read the HOTEL POLICY. I am stressing the word "always" cause unfortunately, you will not win without reading the policy honey. You've signed the hotel registration form, you've agreed to the terms and conditions of the hotel, so you lawfully bound to comply with it. No one force you to put up at the hotel on the first place

6. Yes, i know some receptionists are just getting on your nerves, but if you know your way out, it cannot be that bad. i also understand that sometimes, they are not being co-operative, but if you asked them to get towels at 2am because you just HAVE to DO IT at 2am? thats ridiculous!

7. Make sure you have your I.D. and Credit Card that you used to make the reservation. Its crucial to have them both with you upon check-in. What some guest dont understand is that, its a hotel policy that we are trying to protect our hotel and NOT because we think you look like a crook!

8. Make sure you check everything, before you submit PROCEED. Stop acting smart thinking that you know what has been done or which has been paid on the bill or transaction. Always check the amount that you've already paid upon reservation, or if there's balance on the total payment, please check the balance that you should be paying upon check-in is the right amount printed. To be on the safe side, just print out the main page with them figures before you get yourself on that flight! Well, if you're so stingy and perhaps, environmentally friendly, just have them email on your phone or laptop. Well, its almost 2020, i am sure everyone have email on their phone these days.

9. Lastly, please DONT TRY TO BE SMART! They've been at the front desk for years, they know what they're doing and for what reason they're doing it. So stop questioning them like you've been in their shoes before. Even if you do, different hotels have different policies.

Well, my advice are

  • read reviews
  • check picture reviews (if any)
  • read hotel descriptions
  • check rates at different websites
  • read the hotel policy

These are the simplest sequences i can think of when you're staying at a hotel,

CHECK IN / ENJOY / CHECK OUT..

have a good holiday!!

...and thats, if u follow my advice!

ps: i've come across an idiot who claimed that he doesnt have cash with him and that his credit card has been frozen by the bank. cut the bull shit, and make sure u have enough cash and other spare credit cards while travelling..JUST IN CASE!!
