Staying safe

With such horrid news that we've been getting these days, it feels like no where is safe. Just when you thought you're safe, came another news. Its like a never ending story. At times, i felt paranoid and scared for my own safety. The media keep feeding us public with such terrifying news, which is although hard, but thats harsh reality, as a reminder especially to us girls, women, ladies etc.

Few miles away from where i live, a woman being stabbed in an unprovoked attack. Like, how is that possible? Why would you want to attack someone for the sake of i dont know, nothing? The man even have bunch of other weird weapons in his bag. Fair enough, the woman was walking alone, in an empty road, past midnight, but if a girl needs to go out, then she needs to go out! She's a big girl. This happened, just few miles away from my place, which is a pretty scary thought i must say.

Months back, there was a girl walking out from her house, to the train station, being punched in another unprovoked attack, in a BROAD DAYLIGHT. That is proper sick! Like what the fuck is wrong with you dude? So today, you've decided to punched a girl in the face, just like that? The girl went KO on the first swing..KOed! First swing! Fucking sick!

The most brutal incident would be the India gang rape. I couldn't even imagine. Quite honestly, i couldn't even type it. No words can describe these helpless feelings. I am lost for words really! Nothing came out..

Everytime when i read such news, i just gotta keep on reminding myself, hoping that it sticks into my stubborn big head to remember these,

1. Stop playing with the phone while walking

2. Always be vigilant about my surroundings

3. Do not talk to "weird" people

4. Do not stare or pull loath faces to strangers

5. Do not try to be smart

6. Do not try to be strong

7. Once i'm off the bus, i'll run as fast as i can

8. Get house keys ready while i'm still on the bus, not while i'm walking

But its always safe to have a male companion to walk you home, when you're alone. I personally would love that, but i will never ask. Its like helping the girl with her bags when she has all bags in the world, with only 2 hands. You just dont choose who you wanna sent off, whether or not you wanna walk her home cause she's alone, which friends would you prefer to carry her bag for. You just do it because she's your friend. Please dont feel obligated, i swear dont! Well, NOT every man will do that unfortunately, and that's why its better to take care of yourself, than thinking that a male species can go no wrong. Hey, "female of the species is more deadly than the male"!.

you're right mate!

Everytime when i read these scary news, i sleep with big umbrella on top of my bed, double check my deadlock, cause its making me paranoid. I really run as fast as i can once i get off the bus if i got home late at night.

Having exercise all these precautions, whats left is to leave it with Allah swt. He knows best. Pray and asked Him for all the safety in the world, for my family and i, every girl, every boy, men and women. InsyaAllah.

Just please ladies, STAY SAFE wherever you are.
